Stretching from the base of the cliff out towards the ebbing and flowing sea is a wide, sandy beach. It is the perfect space for battle practice, and at night when the ghost crabs creep out of their holes in the sand, the apprentices can practice hunting in the dark.

When the tide is low, a series of seaweed-rimmed pools are exposed among the rocks, brimming with life swept in during the high tide. The cats come here to hunt crabs and stranded fish, and the birds that feed on the tiny shrimp and worms.

A short ways into the water, the ground rises, and during a low tide juts out over the surface. Though prey rarely settles here, it makes a good goal for apprentices when they are being taught to swim. First cat to the sandbar wins.

Jutting far out into the ocean, past the sandbar, past the arc of the cliffs, Long Stones is a wall built entirely of large boulders. It takes great strength, balance, and dexterity to leap out all the way to the end of the rocks, and it is generally forbidden for any apprentice to try. Nevertheless, in trying times, it is a good place to hunt the chicks of seagulls.
